Update 1.2 - Oh crap it's February

33 days into 2024, I'm unable to show any progress of this piece, but to be fair. I haven't made progress on anything really.

To rewind a bit, I've been candid on social media about how 2023 was an exceptionally tough year. A comical amount of bad luck interfered with my ability to  work on anything, personal or business related (this included). In the last quarter, the amount of obstacles I ran into seemed non-stop, which left me so exhausted that I halted most business activities in December. Even through we're in February now, I've decided it's best to extend this break for a few more weeks.

On a more positive note, taking time off and becoming a temporary shut-in has allowed me enough time and energy to conquer the many background tasks I couldn't even come close to completing last year. Of the remaining items on that list: this block print. I hoped to complete in November but...see paragraph above.

Emerald City Comicon is approaching on the 28th, which gives me a new goal post to work toward. It would be great to have it ready to go before I make the trek, but with last year being such a wild card, I want to spend as much time as possible ensuring the end product matches my initial vision. Typically artist thing to say, right?

33 days in, yes, I haven't made a lot of progress, but meanwhile, I optimized my workspace, sorted paperwork, organized my tools, and for once, I don't feel like I'm about to explode. I think it's a good time to dive back in.

If I had tried to push my way through this project with others stacked up while still working in an unsuitable environment, this entry would much different; I would instead be explaining that I have to restart because the block shattered when I threw it against the wall in a fit of fit of rage.

It could still happen.

Well, onward.
