⚠ What are scraps??
Early in the block printing process, several test or "primer" prints are made on scrap paper to help coat the surface of the carved block with even layers of tacky ink. This ensures later that the printed images on the final products are consistently bright and clear. These papers can also be reused to remove ink buildup on tools.

Some scraps are too cool to end up in the trash, but too trashy to frame on a wall. They reside in printmaking limbo, waiting for someone to assign them a new purpose in the afterlife. Someone who looks at this pile of trash and thinks "Yes. Mine."
